MEASURING TIPS
Measuring your windows doesn’t have to be tricky — follow these simple tips to get accurate measurements every time:
-
Use a steel tape measure. It’s the most accurate tool for this job.
-
Keep the tape straight and taut. Avoid sagging or bending.
-
Read carefully in 1/8" increments. Always round up (e.g., if a measurement is just under 25-3/8", round up to 25-3/8").
-
Decide on inside or outside mount. This will affect the measurements you provide.
-
Check the example pictures below. Choose the window type that looks most like yours to guide your measurements.
-
Measure the width in three places: top, middle, and bottom.
-
For inside mount, provide the smallest measurement.
-
For outside mount, provide the largest measurement.
-
-
Measure the length (height): from the top to the bottom of the window.
-
Measure the arch height:
-
Measure the total length of the window (top of arch to bottom).
-
Measure the length of the straight part of the window (bottom of arch to bottom).
-
Subtract the straight part from the total length — the difference is the arch height.
